NOVA Workforce Launches Google Cybersecurity Certificate Program
Did you know October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month? In 2004, the president of the United States and Congress declared the month of October to be Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This month is dedicated to raise awareness about the critical importance of cybersecurity and to promote good cybersecurity practices among individuals, businesses and organizations. To celebrate Cybersecurity Month’s 20th anniversary, NOVA Workforce is proud to announce the launch of a brand-new Google Career Certificate program: Google Cybersecurity Certificate. This online, self-paced program, developed by Google, is designed to help individuals with no previous experience find their first job in the field of cybersecurity.
The innovative curriculum includes an introductory first course; six courses that progressively build learners’ working knowledge of networks, security models and tools used to assess and address threats, risks and vulnerabilities; and one final course focused on escalation to stakeholders and decision makers. In the final course, learners will also write a resume and cover letter to prepare to apply and interview for jobs in cybersecurity. Learners will also complete hands-on activities that allow them to demonstrate understanding and key skills and produce artifacts to to add to their professional portfolio.
The program is designed to be completed within six months, working 10 to 15 hours per week.
NOVA is the first academic partner to offer the Google Cybersecurity Certificate program!
