CST Marketing Committee Event: Communication in the Workforce

The NOVA CST Marketing Committee will host a webinar on Wednesday, October 18, at 6:30 p.m. “Communication in the Workforce: Skills Every Employer Hopes You Have” will be held via Zoom and feature panelists from various industries. Featured speakers will discuss how they have taken the skills learned in prior communications courses and applied them in the workforce.

Panelists include:

Sergio Urias, Senior Contract Specialist, Charles River Laboratories
Albert Vega, Chief Technology Officer, Building Momentum
Issmar Ventura, Bilingual Media Relations Specialist, Alexandria City Public Schools
Tamara Warren Chinyani, Associate Professor of Communication Studies, Northern Virginia Community College

Hosted by Liliya Karimova, Jenny Lopez-Ramirez and James Steele, all full-time communications faculty members at NOVA, this event will help attendees grasp the importance of communication across career fields, identify possible new career fields and understand how communications concepts taught at NOVA translate into professional skills and abilities.
