Let’s Get Active: Manassas Faculty/Staff vs. Students Kickball Game a Hit!
NOVA Campus Recreation and Wellness is all about engaging with students on multiple levels and enhancing their overall wellness. The different activities implemented by the Recreation and Wellness department across our campuses are designed not only to enrich our students’ social lives and physical fitness but also to give them a sense of purpose on campus alongside their academics.
On October 4, Campus Recreation hosted a Faculty/Staff vs. Students 8v8 kickball game for Breast Cancer Awareness on the Manassas Campus. Faculty and staff from different departments came together to play a friendly but competitive game of kickball. This year, the director of recreation formed teams with students and faculty/staff to help continue to break barriers and foster a sense of unity and belonging. The two teams were “Too Legit to Quit” and “Can’t Touch This,” and the excitement and energy were second to none as “Too Legit to Quit” ultimately won the match 9-5. Manassas Provost Dr. Molly Lynch participated in the 30 minutes of action, motivating and encouraging the rest of her “Can’t Touch This” team members. NOVA Campus Recreation and Wellness activities promote camaraderie, strengthen our sense of community on campus and support an inclusive environment. The extra rapport we build with our students through these types of events is invaluable and is encouraged collegewide.
Campus Recreation activities are open to all NOVA students, faculty and staff. Click here to learn more about recreational or virtual wellness activities.
