Dr. Dahlia Henry-Tett Named Top 50 Women Leaders in Ed. for 2023
Dr. Dahlia Henry-Tett has been recognized as one of the “Women We Admire Top 50 Women Leaders in Education for 2023.” Henry-Tett is NOVA’s inaugural chief wellness officer and has made her mark at the college by promoting programming that helps employees stay healthy as they go about their work and life through proper nutrition and exercise. She was appointed as NOVA’s interim chief wellness officer in August 2022, and that position was made permanent in July 2023. In her role, Dr. Henry-Tett has promoted weekly wellness campaigns that involve making exercise and activity fun and accessible, healthy nutrition with regular healthy recipes through WW, heart health awareness and other health initiatives. She also works with the VCCS and DHRM to promote their statewide health campaigns.
“Under Dr. Henry-Tett’s leadership, NOVA has witnessed a remarkable transformation in the realm of employee well-being,” said Charlotte Calobrisi, AVP of Human Resources. “Her vision, dedication and innovative approach to wellness are having a significant impact on our workforce, fostering a culture of health, happiness and productivity.”
Dr. Henry-Tett holds a bachelor’s in physical education from Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York; a master of science in physical education from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate and second master’s in education from the health and behavioral studies department at Teachers College, Columbia University. She is a certified health education specialist through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing and a certified mental health first aid trainer.
