NOVA Esports Places Second in MITRE GameX Military Simulation Tournament
NOVA Esports was invited by MITRE, a major nonprofit government contracting company, to participate in its growing esports series on Friday, Oct. 13. The series, known as “GameX: Mission Generation Under Attack,” is a military simulation experiment designed to support the U.S. Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC). The experiment is intended to gather information to provide insights for how networks and teams within organizations respond to chaotic situations and diverse threats, enabling the military to better understand logistics and optimize resources.
NOVA Esports thrived in competition, placing second after several iterations of the military simulation game “Drone Guardians” were orchestrated, in which teams of five were tasked with unique roles and the difficult job of assessing and preventing threats to an airfield. The tournament validates the diverse role of esports in society. Indeed, competitive gaming is not only a way to bring communities together; it can also foster a spirit of teamwork and help organizations improve their processes and decision-making skills.
