Women’s Basketball Is Back!

October 26, 2023 / Our Nighthawks

Basketball season is approaching fast! NOVA Women’s Basketball will kick off with the CCBC Essex Jamboree on Sunday, October 29, a scrimmage on Saturday, November 4 (vs. Trinity of D.C.), and the regular home opener at Annandale on Wednesday, November 8, at 5 p.m. (vs. Howard Community College).

Come on out this season to support our Nighthawks, including top freshmen players Kristen Auguste and Alia Denwiddle!

Photograph of NOVA Women's Basketball player Kristen Auguste, wearing a white Nighthawks jersey emblazoned with the number 4, standing on the court during a game against George Mason University. Auguste's legs are wide, bent at the knees, as she braces to take a shot. As she looks toward the upper-right corner of the frame, her hands, holding a basketball, echo that same line. Behind Auguste, two Mason players, wearing dark green jerseys, play defense, with one extending her arm to block Auguste's shot.

Photograph of NOVA Women's Basketball player Alia Denwiddle, wearing a white Nighthawks jersey emblazoned with the number 25, in mid-air as she has just released the ball in an attempt to make a shot during a game against George Mason University. At right, Denwiddle, with her front facing the camera, appears several inches off the ground, and she looks to the left of the frame, her arms stretched upward to follow through. On the left side of the photo, a Mason player, wearing a dark uniform and facing away from the camera, extends her right arm upward.
