Woodbridge Faculty, Staff and Students Team Up for Breast Cancer Awareness

October 26, 2023 / ICYMI (In Case You Missed It)

NOVA Recreation and Wellness is all about engaging with students on multiple levels and enhancing their overall wellness. The different activities we schedule across all NOVA campuses are designed not only to enrich our students’ social lives and physical fitness but also to give them a sense of purpose on campus alongside their academics.

On Tuesday, October 24, Campus Recreation hosted another Faculty/Staff and Students Kickball Game for Breast Cancer Awareness. This time, the activity took place on the Woodbridge Campus. In an effort to foster a sense of unity and belonging — and dissolve that imaginary line separating faculty/staff and students — teams were combined to include both faculty/staff and students. The two teams were “Ice Ice Baby ” and “Whoop There It Is.” The excitement and energy were palpable as “Ice Ice Baby” won the match in orderly fashion 13-0. Woodbridge Provost Dr. Richmond Hill participated in the 30 minutes of action, serving as the pitcher and motivating the rest of his “Whoop There It Is” team members. NOVA Campus Recreation and Wellness activities promote camaraderie, strengthen our sense of community on campus and support an inclusive environment.

Campus Recreation activities are open to all NOVA students, faculty and staff. Click here to learn more about recreational or virtual wellness activities. If you have questions, please feel free to email us at CampusRec@nvcc.edu.
