Testing of NOVA’s Emergency Alert Systems, Today, 1 p.m.
Today at 1 p.m., NOVA will be testing a portion of its emergency alert system. The systems tested will be: personal computers, desk phones and hallway monitors (digital media screens). This is just a test of our alert systems and will require no action on your part. Once the alert has concluded, you will simply exit out of the alert displayed on your desk phone and acknowledge the alert displayed on your computer monitor. If you are on campus, please take note of any equipment that did not display the test alert. On Monday, October 30, a survey will be sent to faculty and staff by email. We encourage full participation so that we can assess the success of the test and make sure to fix any equipment that did not display the alert.
Other than completion of the survey on Monday, no further action will be needed by faculty, staff and students.
NOTE: Emails, text messages, social media and media alerts will NOT be included in this test.
Thank you for your assistance and support as we all continuously work together in this effort.
