Why are we focusing on an Academic Master Plan now?
Not only are we grappling with the multifaceted challenges and opportunities posed by disruptive technologies, shifting demographics and the demands of the global economy, we are also facing pandemic learning loss, questions about the value of higher education and a generation of students whose ways of making sense of the world differ from those of previous generations. Our methodologies and pedagogies must adapt to these modern learners. Additionally, in an era of increasingly constrained resources, colleges are being called upon to increase completion rates and align programs with workforce needs, while ensuring that we meet the needs of a diverse student body. In this turbulent landscape, a well-crafted, forward-looking Academic Master Plan will serve as our compass going forward. Crafting an Academic Master Plan gives us the opportunity to align with our new strategic plan and to conduct a comprehensive assessment of our current academic endeavors, to establish a shared vision and course for our programs and practices over the upcoming three years to meet our mission to “provide equitable access to outstanding and affordable higher education and workforce programs, thereby transforming the lives of our students and advancing opportunity within our community.”

We value the input of our faculty and staff and hope to see you at one of the upcoming listening sessions.
