NOVA Police Carry and Are Trained in Use of Naloxone
Deaths from Fentanyl, a potent and extremely deadly synthetic opioid, are on the rise in our region and nationwide. NOVA police officers are trained and ready to respond to an overdose situation by administering Naloxone, a non-addictive drug used to effectively treat opiate overdoses. NOVA officers carry a minimum of two doses of Naloxone while on duty and are ready to assist. Naloxone is also located at every NOVA Campus Police Office.
