New DEI Innovation Projects Announced for 2024!

November 28, 2023 / General NOVA News

In partnership with the NOVA Educational Foundation, NOVA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council and NOVA’s DEI Office are pleased to announce the recipients of 2024 DEI Innovation Project Awards!

The DEI Innovation Project Program provides support to faculty and staff to complete an innovative student- and education-focused project that (1) directly aligns with the College’s commitment to its core value of inclusion and (2) helps advance the College’s mission and strategic plan. Submitters were required to articulate in their proposal how their project would extend the College’s commitment to inclusive excellence. We received many outstanding proposals this year, for only a few funding slots!

Special thanks to those who submitted proposal ideas and to the review team for their efforts. It was a tough decision on all accounts this year! Please join me in congratulating the following project leads for their thoughtful proposals. More specific information about each DEI Innovation Project will be forthcoming in Spring 2024.

  • Smart Women Choose Smart Technologies
Project Leads: Professor John Meeker (Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration) and Dean Alison Thimblin (Math, Science, Technology & Business)
  • From Ideas to Impact: Creating Inclusive Learning Experiences for All Students
