CommonHealth Wellnote: NOVA’s Own Dahlia Henry-Tett Recognized as a CommonHealth Wellness Champion for 2023

December 11, 2023 / Get Well

CommonHealth, your Virginia State Employee Wellness Program, would like to congratulate the following individuals for their efforts in 2023. These CommonHealth Wellness Champions were nominated by colleagues and chosen from a field of tremendous employees. They have gone above and beyond to inspire others to lead healthier lives through their extraordinary actions. Enjoy their stories. (Psst….. 🙂 NOVA: one of your very own, Dahlia Henry-Tett, has been recognized.)

NOVA’s Office of Employee Wellness and Wellbeing (OEWW), and our wellness partner CommonHealth, encourage you to take a moment to continue to recognize the people who make your workplace healthier.

  • Send a quick email, NOVAfy or Team’s praise or
  • A token of appreciation to someone who causes you to celebrate being a part of this community.

Calling out a job well done is a small gesture that positively impacts employee engagement and enhances a sense of belonging. I was appreciative of this acknowledgment. I am so honored to have my work valued and look forward to continuing to serve our community.

Below masthead: A big congratulations to the CommonHealth Wellness Champions for 2023. These individuals have gone above and beyond to inspire others to lead healthier lives through their extraordinary actions. Enjoy their stories and be sure to tell us about the Wellness Champions in your workplace. Three columns with a photo of the three wellness champions at the top of each column. Left: Kyle Newton, Southeastern Training Center. It's been a pleasure to work alongside so many other healthy champions who put wellness in the forefront of their daily focus. It is vital that we build each other up and are there for each other when it comes to both our physical and mental health. I hope that I am an 'on-the-ground' connector for my colleagues and a resource to share information that is well vetted and trustworthy. I hope that I inspire, encourage, and lead others on their journey to a healthier and happier life by sharing a bit of what I've gleaned along the way. I am lucky to work at Southeastern where this growth is fostered! Center: Dahlia Henry-Tett, NOVA. As NOVA’s inaugural Chief Wellness Officer in the Office of Employee Wellness and Wellbeing, I am dedicated to facilitating a wellness-focused community; implementing capacity-building strategies; and inspiring employees to actively pursue holistically healthful activities, choices, and lifestyles. Being a Wellness Champion means showing up, listening, and collaborating. How fortunate that I get to do that every day with and for people that I care about. Today, recognize the people who make your workplace healthier. Calling out a job well done is a small gesture that positively impacts employee engagement and enhances a sense of belonging. Right: Stacey Ellis, George Mason University. Being a Wellness Champion involves advocating for balanced and healthy lifestyles, offering guidance, and promoting well-being practices within the university community. It means introducing innovative well-being initiatives that foster a sense of community and collaboration. It's about encouraging everyone to embrace the importance of well-being, making it an integral part of our collective identity. In doing so, we truly live up to the value of thriving together, ensuring that every member of our community can flourish in a workplace that prioritizes their health, happiness, and overall well-being.
