LO Campus Sets “New High Score” for STEM Day Attendance
The Loudoun Campus and NOVA SySTEMic are thrilled to announce that the December 2 STEM Day event was an overwhelming success! With a record-breaking 350 families in attendance, guests were able to engage in hands-on activities facilitated by NOVA faculty and staff, as well as several non-profit community groups.
From robotics and life sciences to mathematics and 3D printing, the event had something for everyone. Perhaps the highlight of the day was the Science Stunt Show hosted by Dean Mike Davis. With his magical science show, Dean Davis had the crowd in awe. The ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ and applause could be heard throughout the HEC building.
The planning committee, Laura Siko, Natasha Schuh-Nuhfer, Mike Davis, Sheila Escobedo Yusufi and Lisa Fukui extend a special thank you the more than 50 faculty and staff who volunteered their Saturday to make this program so successful! This year’s list of presenters and helpers includes, Anders Vidstrand, Anita Mohan, Chris Blake, Elizabeth Carr, Fabiana Cesa, Francesca Viale< Georgeana Stratton, Gillian Backus, Heidi Wangerin, Jeff Vetrano, John Scalea, Kayla Gary, Lisa Scott, Michael Wallas, Mitra Jahangeri, MorganMarsh, Nasser Abdel Maksoud, Nathasha Fourquet, Nora Glaser, Paula Rodgers, Ramani Kharidehal, Scott Matthews, Sharis Ahmadi, Sue Dickson, Tierney Pitzer, Bill Bour and Will Straight.
