Winter Break Reads and Warmest Holiday Wishes, Too!
As I’ve observed after each call for book recommendations, NOVA loves reading! I heard from 67 faculty and staff with a combined total of more than 90 titles. From classics to best sellers, from literature to leadership, from celebrities to colleagues, your recommendations span every genre and period. Check out the December 2023 List. The books are grouped into fiction and non-fiction and listed alphabetically by title. As before, I’ve included only pre-colon titles; and to keep the length of the list manageable, I have included duplicate submissions only one time. Just five books were submitted by more than one person: four fiction, Bonnie Garmus’s Lessons in Chemistry; Barbara Kingsolver’s Poisonwood Bible; Amor Towles’s A Gentleman in Moscow; Abraham Verghese’s The Covenant of Water; and one non-fiction, Beverly Gage’s G-Man.
Many thanks to all who shared their favorites in hopes that you’ll find a book or two to give or get this season–enjoy the list!
This is the last Tuesday Topic of 2023. I send my best wishes for a warm and wonderful holiday season and a joyous start to the new year to each member of the NOVA community. May the break bring you time for rest, renewal and, of course, reading!
See you in this space in 2024.
