Save the Date for NOVA Serves MLK Jr. National Day of Service, Jan. 15

Let’s start the spring semester in service to our community! NOVA is again proud to partner with Volunteer Fairfax for our annual commitment to service on MLK Jr. Day, January 15, 2024. Below you will find information about donating food items and ways to sign up to serve. If you would like to be a lead on one of the service projects, please contact Nigel Word, WordNC@nvcc.edu.

Each year, NOVA Serves and Volunteer Fairfax partner together for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service — a day on, not a day off! Also, consider volunteering for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day at Give Together, Volunteer Fairfax’s family-friendly volunteer event hosted in partnership with NOVA. This event is designed to engage families with children (ages 5–12) in service learning. We invite you to attend and participate in these thoughtful and engaging service projects working alongside local nonprofit partners across a variety of mission areas. Projects will include a food drive and food packing, creating caring kits for community members who need support, making no-tie fleece blankets for veterans, learning about environmental stewardship, support for animal welfare and more! Teens are also welcome to support this event as Teen Volunteer Event Helpers. 

This event is free and open to the public but registration is required.
