Fellow Veterans, Please Join Me on Jan. 25

December 15, 2023 / General NOVA News

As a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, I know that NOVA’s workforce includes hundreds of fellow veterans of the armed services.

I am writing to let you know of a great opportunity for NOVA veterans to join us in helping our students by purchasing a ticket — and perhaps a book, too — to the upcoming event featuring Retired U.S. Army General David Petraeus.

On January 25, General Petraeus will visit the Alexandria Campus for a NOVA Foundation–sponsored fundraising event where he will discuss his new book, Conflict: The Evolution of Warfare from 1945 to Ukraine. (Note: A fact that is not commonly known is that General Petraeus has a pre-existing affinity for NOVA — he’s a proud parent of NOVA alum!)

All proceeds from this event will go to the NOVA Student Success Fund to help our students facing unexpected emergency expenses that might force them to leave school.

A single ticket costs $25. A ticket and autographed book cost $50. Or, for $90, get a ticket and book for yourself while also providing a second ticket and book for a military-affiliated NOVA student.

You can make your purchase online here. Again, the event will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25, at NOVA’s Alexandria Campus. Seating is limited, so please act fast.

Not only will we hear an engaging discussion on a fascinating topic from one of the leading battlefield commanders and military strategists of our time, we’ll be helping NOVA students in need.

Thank you!
