Instructors: Publish Course Shells

This is a reminder to instructors to publish all Canvas shells for classes starting January 16 on January 13. If you have requested cross-listing of your courses, please do not publish your courses before that date, as publishing too early will interfere with that process.

Courses starting later than January 16 should be published three calendar days before the start of the session. Students are directed to look for their courses at that time. Only instructors can publish courses. NOVA Canvas Support cannot publish courses on behalf of instructors, and students cannot access unpublished courses.

Course start dates should not be edited in the Course Settings navigation. Setting a later start date prohibits the student from accessing the course until that date/time, and the students will not have access to course announcements or Zoom links.

Contact Canvas and Educational Technology Support Services (CETSS) if you need assistance setting up your course, or make an appointment with our Course Design team to get custom banners and buttons for your course(s).
