NOVA’s Office of Wellness and Mental Health Welcomes Care Outreach Specialist
Kylee Kennerly, also known as Lee (pronouns they/them/theirs), is the Office of Wellness and Mental Health’s new care outreach specialist. In this role, Lee will build relationships with NOVA students and the larger NOVA community on each of the College’s six campuses, as well as NOVA Online, with a specific focus on wellness and mental health. In addition, they will assist with program development and implementation, cover administrative needs and provide general office support.
Lee began working with NOVA in 2022 as a peer mentor with Annandale’s College Steps program, assisting students with academic, social, vocational and general life concerns. Other roles Lee has held include mental health technician, college application coach and lead student researcher on the thesis study “Attitudes on Loneliness and Artificial Agents as Intervention in University Students.”
Lee is completing a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and working on a Master of Science in educational psychology at George Mason University. They are passionate about making mental health and wellness resources more accessible and inviting for students of all interests, beliefs, backgrounds and identities through tailored multimedia experiences.
Outside the office, Lee enjoys writing, drawing and playing the bassoon in their school pep band.
