Student Success Fund to Reopen Tomorrow, Jan. 23

January 22, 2024 / General NOVA News

The NOVA Educational Foundation thanks faculty and staff for being a part of the communications effort to promote the Student Success Fund, a fund that provides dollars for students encountering unexpected financial emergencies that could disrupt their momentum toward graduation. To complete processing of applications that are currently in the system, and to make certain that NOVA’s Winter Break did not hinder payment of approved emergency expenses, the Student Success Fund portal closed over break. It will reopen to students tomorrow, Tuesday, January 23, at 12 p.m.

Since the launch of the Student Success Fund, the Foundation has received nearly 1,600 applications and distributed just under $200,000 in emergency grants and “last-mile” scholarships to academically successful but financially challenged NOVA students. We will continue to accept applications in the new year until the Foundation’s investment of $250,000 for this pilot year is exhausted.

Students can view the Student Success Fund eligibility and criteria for support online as they wait for the portal to reopen.

If students reach out to you to inquire about the status of their application, please have them contact Damian Sinclair at the NOVA Foundation, DSinclair@nvcc.edu, and he will respond as quickly as possible.
