NOVA Esports: Back at It!
The spring semester is in full swing at NOVA, and so is our Esports program! At Spring 2024 tryouts, more than 80 students engaged in highly competitive team exercises to determine who would be added to our rosters for Valorant, Valorant Violet (an all-women’s team), League of Legends, Overwatch 2 and Rocket League. Decisions were finalized as of Sunday, January 21, and all teams are set to compete in the Mid-Atlantic Esports Conference (MAEC), NECC, CLoL and CVal leagues — all top levels of competition for college esports.
Although students often transfer or graduate between the fall and spring semesters, the talent pool at NOVA is always exceptional — incredible players show up at each and every Esports tryout.
NOVA Esports is seeking to follow up on a successful fall, which included a return to the MAEC, several second-place finishes and high rankings in the NECC. So what’s the overall goal for NOVA Esports this spring? It’s simple: Establish NOVA as No. 1 in as many esports titles as possible, continuing to fill our already impressive trophy case!
Let’s go, Nighthawks!
