American Heart Month: Don’t Miss Today’s CDC National Heart Month Kickoff Webinar

January 30, 2024 / Get Well

February is American Heart Month, a time to raise awareness about cardiovascular health while incorporating more heart healthy habits into our routines. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. — and although genetics play a part, it’s largely preventable.

Join other partners in heart health as we kick off the month:

  • Attend the American Heart Month kickoff webinar today, Tuesday, January 30, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET. This virtual event, sponsored by the CDC’s Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention, will spotlight women’s cardiovascular issues as well as strategies to improve heart health overall. Please join the Zoom webinar here (ID: 818 2293 0114).
  • Participate in National Wear Red Day, held the first Friday in February. This year, join in on Friday, February 2, to raise awareness by:
    • wearing red,
    • encouraging others to do the same, and
    • refreshing your healthy weight goal or other related wellness goals.
  • Attend a Facebook Live event on Friday, February 2, from 12 to 1 p.m. ET to learn what “heart smart” actions you can take in your everyday life to help prevent heart disease. Hear from leaders and experts from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute on what we can all do to keep #OurHearts healthy.
  • Save the date: Show your heart some love with WeightWatchers. Sign up for a free WeightWatchers webinar open to ALL NOVA employees on Thursday, February 29, at 1 p.m. ET: Momentum: The Secret to Maintaining Your Heart Healthy Habits.
