Real Talk Event at GMU Today: Earning an Income Regardless of Immigration Status

George Mason’s University Career Services, in collaboration with the First-Gen+ Center, will host a virtual event today, January 30, from 4 to 5 p.m. This afternoon’s event, part of the “Real Talk” series, will discuss various income and post-graduation options for students of immigrant origin. The event will also feature a panel of DACAmented and undocumented entrepreneurs.

At this discussion-based session, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and identify concrete steps they can take to advance their entrepreneurial endeavors. Terms such as independent contractor, freelancer and entrepreneur will be covered, as will various actions to take depending on one’s immigration status. Undocumented students are strongly encouraged to attend this event.
