American Heart Month: Rock Your Red Tomorrow, NOVA!

February 1, 2024 / Get Well

February is American Heart Month, a time to raise awareness about cardiovascular health while incorporating more heart healthy habits into our routines. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. — and although genetics play a part, it’s largely preventable.

This Friday, February 2, join us:

  • Participate in National Wear Red Day (the first Friday in February) to raise awareness by:
    • wearing red,
    • encouraging others to do the same, and
    • refreshing your healthy weight goal or other related wellness goals.
  • Attend a Facebook Live event from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. to learn what “heart smart” actions you can take in your everyday life to help prevent heart disease. Hear from leaders and experts from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute on what we can all do to keep #OurHearts healthy.

Save the date: Show your heart some love with Weight Watchers. Sign up for a free Weight Watchers webinar open to ALL NOVA employees on Thursday, February 29, at 1 p.m.: Momentum: The Secret to Maintaining Your Heart Healthy Habits.
