GMU Expert on Inclusive Instructional Techniques, Feb. 23
Are you ready to integrate inclusive teaching into multiple aspects of your instructional spaces? Would you like to explore effective techniques and develop tangible plans for your classes? If so, your journey continues here! Join us for an enlightening workshop to (1) deepen your understanding of inclusive course instruction across various modalities and (2) explore instructional techniques tailored to your course and discipline. The workshop, led by Dr. Rachel Yoho and titled “Fostering Engagement and Belonging with Inclusive Instructional Techniques,” will be offered for NOVA faculty from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, February 23.
Dr. Rachel Yoho, an award-winning educator, brings a wealth of experience as a faculty member at George Mason University (GMU). Currently serving as GMU’s Inclusive Excellence Specialist, Dr. Yoho is a recent Fulbright Specialist awardee and has received multiple recognitions throughout her career, including the Trailblazer Award as a university partner of the GMU College of Engineering and Computing; the university-wide educator Rising Star Award two years in a row; an Exemplary Course Award for a course that she developed; and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Strategies Award in education — the only DEI education award at her previous university. Dr. Yoho is also a Certified Diversity Professional through the National Diversity Council.
