Gilman Study Abroad Scholarship: Apps Due March 7!

The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship program enables students to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity. Nearly 3,000 scholarships of up to $5,000 will be awarded this academic year, and we hope some of our NOVA students will be among the recipients!

To be eligible to apply, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or national
  • Be in good academic standing at an accredited institution
  • Receive a federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during their study abroad term
  • Apply to or already be accepted into a credit-bearing study abroad program
  • Travel to a country or location with an overall Travel Advisory level of 1 or 2

Applications for this cycle are due Thursday, March 7. Please encourage your students to take advantage of this potentially life-changing opportunity!
