Sharpen Your Online Teaching Skills, March 4

February 28, 2024 / Tech Notes & Training

Facilitating online discussions and providing constructive feedback on students’ coursework are two critical components of substantive interaction, a new regulation on distance education mandated by the U.S. Department of Education since July 2021. To support NOVA faculty in aligning with this federal requirement, we will offer two workshops this semester. While these workshops are designed for faculty engaged in asynchronous online courses, educators teaching hybrid or synchronous courses can also find value in these professional learning and development opportunities.

  • Effectively Facilitating Online Discussions, March 4–10
  • Providing Quality Feedback for Online Learners, March 18–24

Both workshops are delivered asynchronously online through Canvas, which provides flexibility for participants to engage with the content at their convenience. You can learn anywhere, anytime — simply complete learning activities and assessments by the due dates according to your personal schedule.
