 Date Time/ Zoom Link Title/Description

Mon., March 11

5:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Zoom: Polling
In this session, participants will learn how to create polls for Zoom meetings and for Zoom in Canvas. Learn how to develop questions, launch polls and view poll results.

Mon., March 11 6 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Zoom: Breakout Rooms
Breakout Rooms allow hosts to facilitate small group work in Zoom meetings. In this session, you’ll learn the settings and options to enable in your VCCS Zoom account, how to create Breakout Rooms when you schedule a meeting, and how to create Breakout Rooms that use Canvas Groups. We’ll cover how to move between Breakout Rooms and the main room, along with other management tools like timers, countdowns, activity status and messages.

Tues., March 12 12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m.

Zoom in Canvas
One advantage of creating your course meeting in the Zoom in Canvas menu is that students only need to have course access to be able to access the meeting rooms and have meeting information automatically populate the course calendar. In this training, you’ll learn how to enable your Zoom in Canvas in your course, schedule a meeting and find your meeting in Canvas. Then we’ll review some in-meeting tools, including how to share your screen. You’ll also see how easy it is to find your meeting attendance and publish recordings!

Thurs., March 14

12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m.

Microsoft 365 & OneDrive
Participants will learn how to access their NOVA Microsoft 365 account and where to find all the apps and features. Users will learn how to create and upload files in their OneDrive for sharing and collaborating with others.

Fri., March 15 9:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Canvas New Analytics
New Analytics is an interactive tool that provides improved analytics for tracking student engagement and performance. This session will explore the various data available regarding course grades, weekly online activity, and individual student activity and related reports. In addition, we’ll look at the Access Report that provides almost-real-time information on a student’s activity. Participants will also view New Analytics from the student’s perspective.
