USJ Professor, Author on Inclusive Instruction Principles & Practices

Would you like to explore principles and practices of inclusive instruction across disciplines and modalities? If so, join us for an upcoming webinar presented by the incredible Dr. Derek Dube. The webinar, titled “What Inclusive Instructors Do: Principles and Practices,” will be offered for NOVA faculty from 12 p.m. through 1 p.m. on Friday, March 22.

Dr. Dube, not only an accomplished professor but also a published author, brings a wealth of experience as a faculty member at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ). As an associate professor of biology, Dr. Dube has held key roles such as the founding director of the Center for Student Research and Creative Activity, and he currently serves as the director of the First-Year Seminar Program. He holds a Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Virginia. With a diverse teaching background that spans in-person, online asynchronous and hybrid courses, Dr. Dube has taught subjects ranging from biology to research ethics to first-year seminars at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Alongside numerous research and pedagogical publications, Dr. Dube has co-authored two impactful books focused on inclusion and equity in higher education: What Inclusive Instructors Do: Principles and Practices for Excellence in College Teaching (published in 2021) and Enhancing Inclusive Instruction: Student Perspectives and Practical Approaches for Advancing Equity in Higher Education (available this month).
