Food for Thought Event: Female Muslim Student Experiences in Higher Ed, Today at 10
In celebration of Women’s History Month and the holy month of Ramadan (March 10 – April 9, 2024), the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is honored to host its March Food for Thought webinar: “Female Muslim Student Experiences in Higher Education.” The webinar will take place today, Monday, March 25, at 10 a.m.
Join NOVA faculty members Dr. Zahra Rafie and Dr. Hemchand Gossai as they lead an insightful discussion, drawing from their research and recently published book.
During this webinar, you can expect to:
- Gain a deeper understanding of the experiences and challenges faced by female Muslim students in higher education.
- Explore practical strategies for creating inclusive and supportive environments within academic settings.
- Challenge stereotypes and misconceptions surrounding Muslim women in education in an effort to foster a culture of understanding and respect.
This webinar offers a timely opportunity to explore the intersection of faith, culture and academia in the lives of our students. We believe that this event will not only enrich your professional knowledge but also empower you to create more inclusive and equitable learning environments for all students, regardless of their cultural or religious backgrounds.
