Think Safety: Download the LiveSafe App Today!

March 25, 2024 / General NOVA News

It’s always a great time for a refresher on campus safety! Did you know that NOVA has a mobile application that compiles various types of safety information in a single, convenient location?

LiveSafe is available for free in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. This app is essentially a “menu” of safety resources for the NOVA community. Through the app, you can easily dial 911 or contact NOVA PD via phone or text. You can also access an array of step-by-step emergency procedures, from steps to take in the event of a fire to safety tips for inclement weather. Further, users can enable the application’s SafeWalk feature to share their location with family and friends. There’s even an option for no-questions-asked escort and motorist assist requests.

And these are just some of LiveSafe’s capabilities. Additional features include a safety map, which identifies nearby police stations, fire stations and hospitals; a door unlock request for NOVA faculty and staff; relevant push notifications; and a virtual tip line, through which users can report incidents of all kinds — motor vehicle accidents, thefts and more — at the touch of a button.

Learn more about LiveSafe here, and take some time to explore the app once you’ve downloaded it on your smart device. And remember to tell your students about the app, as well. Note that when you open the newly downloaded app, you’ll need to select “NOVA” from the list of organizations and also add your name and contact information.

Download LiveSafe to help keep yourself and the rest of the Nighthawk community safe this season and always!

Below the red text are instructions for downloading the LiveSafe application. Williams, wearing dark glasses and a long black dress with small white polka dots, holds an iPhone displaying the home screen of the LiveSafe app, which features three rectangles — red, blue and purple — stacked vertically.
