2024–25 Long Nguyen & Kimmy Duong Scholarship Program: Apply by Friday

The Kimmy Duong Foundation’s 2024–25 Long Nguyen & Kimmy Duong Scholarship Program is accepting applications through Friday, March 29. Students should apply today to be considered for this renewable, four-year award.

The Long Nguyen & Kimmy Duong Scholarship Program is for undergraduate students enrolled at one of the following seven institutions:

  • George Mason University (GMU) 
  • Montgomery College (MC)
  • Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA)
  • University of Maryland (UMD-CP, UMB, UMBC)
  • University of Virginia (UVA)
  • Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)
  • Virginia Tech (VT)

Scholarships are renewable annually for up to four (4) years for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Prizes are awarded in the following categories:

  • $3,000 annually (Diamond Prize) 
  • $2,000 annually (Gold Prize) 
  • $1,000 annually (Silver Prize)

Eligible students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents* who demonstrate:

  • Outstanding academic achievement
  • Strong leadership potential
  • A track record of community service
  • Pride in their culture and heritage
  • A passion to apply their academic background to create a better world, both in America and in Vietnam 
  • Ability to accept the scholarship at the awards ceremony in July

*Note: Exception for three (3) gold scholarships, which will be reserved for Vietnamese students from Vietnam who have been accepted to one of the seven U.S. institutions listed above.

  • Friday, March 29: Scholarship application deadline
  • March 30 – June 30: Application review and candidate selection 
  • Saturday, July 20: Scholarship award ceremony

Scholarships will be awarded for the 2024–25 academic year. Students should apply for scholarships through The Kimmy Duong Foundation website. Only the first 250 applications will be accepted.
