Apply for the 2024–25 Chancellor’s Fellowship for Classified Staff by April 15

The VCCS Chancellor is pleased to announce the call for applications for the 2024–25 Chancellor’s Fellowship for Classified Staff for community college and system office employees. Two classified employees from across the VCCS will be selected for this award and will be named as Chancellor’s Fellows to pursue degree studies that will enhance their ability to contribute to the community college mission.

The Chancellor’s Fellowship includes the following:

• Financial support for tuition and mandatory fees
• One semester or one academic year leave of absence with 3/4 pay
• Continuation of insurance, retirement, the state’s portion of health insurance and seniority

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Be employed three (3) consecutive years (as of the date of application) in a full-time, state-funded classified position at a community college or the System Office.
• Be enrolled in or accepted to a degree program at a Virginia state-supported institution of higher education.
• Be recommended by the College president.

APPLICATION PROCESS

• Submit a completed application by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 15. Applications can be submitted here.
• Include three (3) letters of endorsement, one of which must be from the College president.
• Submit verification of acceptance to a degree program (if not currently enrolled in an academic program) or submit transcripts (if currently enrolled in an academic program).
