Free Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training for Faculty and Staff
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been exerting a significant influence on higher education, with numerous studies indicating that its impact in academia and the workforce will only continue to grow. To stay ahead of this trend, NOVA is fully committed to harnessing this technology and integrating it into our curriculum, teaching and learning processes, as well as our overall college operations in the coming years.
In January, NOVA introduced to faculty and staff an AI training program developed by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE).Over 160 faculty and staff members have already enrolled in the program and have either completed it or are currently in the process of doing so.
The feedback we have received thus far from those who have engaged with the ACUE training has been overwhelmingly positive. Faculty and staff have expressed that the strategies outlined in the training are immediately applicable to their teaching methods, have enhanced their understanding of AI in education and have inspired them to explore the integration of AI into their daily work. It is important to note that the theme of our fall convocation will be around AI, and we are currently developing a panel discussion featuring faculty insights on the topic.
We will offer a discussion about the ACUE training on Thursday, April 18 at 3 p.m. And then I strongly encourage you to take the opportunity to enroll in the training before the end of this semester. You can register by creating an account with ACUE.
The training consists of four modules, each requiring approximately one hour to complete. Investing just four hours of your time will undoubtedly enhance your teaching practices or daily work. I want to emphasize that this opportunity is available free of charge to both full- and part-time faculty, as well as staff.
Furthermore, the Center for the Advancement of Teaching Excellence (CATE) team is eager to facilitate meaningful discussions to explore your experiences and insights following the training, fostering a community of AI learners and implementors. In addition to seeking feedback, the CATE team aims to cultivate a dynamic community centered around the ACUE training. Please consider joining the community to exchange ideas, share best practices and collectively elevate our teaching methodologies and work strategies!
Please join us in our shared mission to enhance our teaching skills and foster a supportive community. Your presence and input are invaluable.
Thank you in advance for your participation.
