Machine Gun Preacher Sam Childers to Present at NOVA, April 11

April 1, 2024 / Events

In a world where the line between right and wrong is often blurred by conflict and hardship, one man’s extraordinary journey stands as a testament to the power of change and the human spirit’s capacity for compassion. Sam Childers, also known as the “Machine Gun Preacher,” has devoted much of his life to saving and sheltering children in one of the world’s most volatile and all but forgotten regions.

Through the foundation of Angels of East Africa and the children’s village in Nimule, South Sudan, Childers and his team have provided refuge and hope to countless children who have been orphaned or affected by brutal conflicts, especially those terrorized by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) led by Joseph Kony, who is wanted for war crimes.

During his presentation, Sam will share insights into his challenging but rewarding journey, the complexities of global security issues in Africa and the impact of individual actions on worldwide humanitarian efforts. This is a unique opportunity to hear firsthand from a man whose life story is a powerful reminder of the capacity for change within us all and the profound difference one person can make in the world

Please join us for this virtual event on April 11, at 7 p.m. for an evening of powerful storytelling, learning and inspiration. This event is open to all students, faculty, staff and other interested parties.
