Collegewide 2-on-2 March Madness Basketball Tournament

NOVA College Recreation is all about engaging with students on multiple levels to enhance their overall wellness. The different activities organized by College Recreation across all our campuses are intended not only to enrich our students’ social skills and physical activity but also to give them a sense of purpose on campus outside their academics.

On Friday, March 29, College Recreation teamed up with Career Services to host a thrilling collegewide 2-on-2 March Madness basketball tournament on the Annandale Campus. The turnout was fantastic, with representation from five NOVA campuses. A total of 26 teams signed up, ready to compete. To ensure an inclusive environment for all skill levels, we organized two brackets — casual and competitive.

Throughout the tournament, participants displayed remarkable competitiveness while embodying excellent sportsmanship, positive vibes and teamwork. It was inspiring to see everyone fully engaged and committed to the spirit of the event. More than 85 active participants and enthusiastic spectators made for quite a vibrant atmosphere!

A huge shoutout goes to Team Jefe, the casual champions from the Annandale Campus, and to Cash Money, the competitive champions from the Alexandria Campus, for their victories in their respective brackets. Congratulations!

College Recreation activities are open to all NOVA students, faculty and staff. To learn more or sign up to participate in recreational or wellness activities, please join our Rec on Canvas platform.
