NOVA All Access Offers Hassle-Free Way to Purchase Textbooks
In the next few weeks, NOVA and Barnes & Noble will debut a new student-centric course material delivery model. For Fall 2024 classes, NOVA All Access (formerly known as Barnes & Noble College First Day® Complete) will set students up for success by ensuring they get their required textbooks and other course materials by the first day of class.
NOVA All Access addresses concerns that textbooks are too expensive and inconvenient to secure by the start of classes. For a flat fee per credit, students get access to all required course textbooks and digital materials. Through NOVA All Access, students can choose a delivery method that works for them — either pickup at the campus bookstore or direct shipment to their home. In addition, digital and electronic materials will be delivered directly to Canvas, so no more access codes or cards are needed! NOVA All Access eliminates the stress of tracking down materials in time for the start of the semester. Students can also use financial aid for the program.
All NOVA students will be automatically enrolled in the NOVA All Access program when they register for classes, but they can easily opt out if they choose. There will be a period before classes start when students can opt out if they think they can find their course materials for a lower price; they can also choose to opt back into the program during that time.
Faculty also benefit from NOVA All Access, retaining the freedom to select materials that are best for their courses. Plus, NOVA All Access supports the adoption of hard-copy and digital materials. Faculty should note that the materials adoption process does not change. As they have always been, adoptions for Fall 2024 courses were due by April 1 in Barnes & Noble’s adoption portal. If you have not already done so, please submit your adoptions as soon as possible so Barnes & Noble can negotiate the lowest prices with the publishers.
Course packs printed through NOVA Printing Services (and previously sold to students through campus bookstores) will also be available through NOVA All Access. NOVA Printing Services is standing by to assist in ensuring these materials are ready and available for students as part of the new program.
More details on the new NOVA All Access program will be available in the coming weeks at www.nvcc.edu/novaallaccess (the page anticipated to go live on April 8) — so stay tuned!
