Update on EWP Project
We are pleased to announce progress on a project to standardize Employee Work Profiles (EWPs) for Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) role codes.
In Fall 2023, NOVA HR began identifying and correcting positions currently assigned to incorrect DHRM role codes. Now, with the project well underway, we anticipate working with supervisors to implement changes. Hiring managers will begin to use standardized EWP templates when creating new positions, ensuring consistency in job descriptions and qualifications. Training sessions will be held collegewide to assist supervisors in using the new EWP templates effectively.
Consistent role code designations for positions with similar responsibilities will ensure fairness and transparency in our HR processes. Additionally, standardized EWPs will provide clearer career progression paths for employees seeking growth opportunities within the College and ensure our HR practices align with DHRM’s expectations for managing role code determinations. Clearer position descriptions and a more streamlined hiring process will also enhance our recruitment and retention efforts while promoting fairness, consistency and compliance in our classification and compensation determinations.
We appreciate your continued cooperation. We will keep you updated on further developments as the project progresses.
