NOVA and NOVA Foundation Thankful for Another Successful Giving Day!

April 23, 2024 / General NOVA News

On Thursday, April 18, the NOVA Educational Foundation hosted its third annual Giving Day, a 24-hour virtual fundraiser in support of student success. Surpassing its $50,000 goal, the Foundation in fact raised more than $75,000 to meet the emerging needs of the College!

“The outpouring of support on Giving Day shows the passion our NOVA community has for our students,” said Kelly Persons, executive director of the NOVA Foundation. “Thank you to everyone who made this annual event such a success.”

The College continues to support its diverse student body by providing critical wraparound services through the NOVA Foundation. For its third Giving Day, the Foundation hosted a fun-filled afternoon of coffee, games and networking on the Loudoun Campus for both NOVA students and the greater College community. Nearly 250 students and faculty/staff attended the event, where they enjoyed complimentary beverages from Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck while mingling with NOVA alumni and local employers.

Approximately 148 donors supported this important campaign, and the Foundation is grateful for all the superheroes in the NOVA community who continually support our students. Over the years, the generosity of our donors has helped ensure that exceptional education and skills training will continue to be accessible to all, transforming the lives of our students, their families and the region.

NOVA Giving Day is one of many examples of how community support extends beyond the physical boundaries of the College. Indeed, these critical contributions help propel the community, region and state forward by preparing students to enter the local workforce.
