Student Art Exhibition, “Us: Here and Everywhere,” Opening Reception, Today at 4:30

April 23, 2024 / Events

Join the AAPI Center today, April 23, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for the opening reception of AAPI Connect’s student art exhibition, “Us: Here and Everywhere.” This event will be held on the Annandale Campus (CFH-206).

Students of AAPI Connect, the AAPI Center’s peer mentorship program, have been working all year with artists Wing Young Huie and Sushmita Mazumdar to create original photographs and pieces of art involving themes of identity, community and belonging. Using the method of photovoice, students tell stories about who they are as AAPI NOVA students and who they are in other contexts, exploring various parts of themselves that combine to create a complex whole.

Refreshments will be served at the reception. The students’ artwork will remain on display in the AAPI Center for a few weeks following the opening reception. For questions and accommodations, please contact Heather Moser at HMoser@nvcc.edu or Dr. Frame at MFrame@nvcc.edu
