National Park Week Is Going On Right Now!

Do you love camping, hiking, backpacking, picnicking, forest bathing, kayaking, canoeing — essentially all things outdoors? National Park Week is going on right now! National Park Week is a celebration of our nation’s more than 400 parks, of all different shapes, sizes and types. April — Earth Month — is the perfect time to explore the National Park Service, its programs and its partners, which seek to preserve our natural and cultural heritage and provide recreational opportunities around the country! Take a peek at this short video to learn more.

Become a Park Champion!

  • Consider joining the Parks Project. Help the project achieve its goal of protecting and preserving parklands for generations by educating, advocating, volunteering and activating park supporters to participate in conservation. Learn more here.
  • Use your skills and passion to benefit the nation’s vibrant and varied parks. With supervisor approval, full-time employees can take advantage of the School/Volunteer Leave Benefit to help maintain and support the operations of the parks. If you have any questions about the leave benefit or need assistance, please contact benefits@nvcc.edu.

Take Action for a Healthier Planet

  • Tomorrow, Saturday, April  27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. is the Manassas Campus–VDOT Adopt-A-Highway event. Join the Math Club, NOVA faculty, staff and student volunteers as they clean up a half-mile stretch of Featherbed Lane, located along the Manassas Battlefield Parkway.
