National Park Week Is Going On Right Now!
Do you love camping, hiking, backpacking, picnicking, forest bathing, kayaking, canoeing — essentially all things outdoors? National Park Week is going on right now! National Park Week is a celebration of our nation’s more than 400 parks, of all different shapes, sizes and types. April — Earth Month — is the perfect time to explore the National Park Service, its programs and its partners, which seek to preserve our natural and cultural heritage and provide recreational opportunities around the country! Take a peek at this short video to learn more.
Explore the National Park Service’s website to determine which parks are right in your backyard or near an upcoming destination. Here are a few close to NOVA:
- Great Falls Park
- Manassas National Battlefield Park
- Prince William Forest Park
- Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts
- Check this site to see if you are eligible for discounted passes.
