Happy Father’s Day from OEWW!
As Father’s Day approaches (this Sunday, June 16), we pause to recognize the nurturing spirit associated with this celebration. While this day is traditionally dedicated to fathers, we acknowledge that fatherhood can take many forms; indeed, it extends beyond biological ties and honors the remarkable men who shape our lives. In addition to those who are fathers in the traditional sense, we also celebrate grandfathers, uncles, bonus dads and mentors. All of these individuals embrace their roles with love and commitment, enriching our lives in countless ways.
Father’s Day can bring with it mixed emotions. For some, it’s a joyful occasion — a chance to express gratitude for the love and care received. For others, it’s a reminder of loss or strained relationships. In our NOVA community, we stand together, acknowledging both the joys and the challenges. Let us extend compassion to those who find this day difficult.
If you find yourself with complex emotions surrounding Father’s Day, the Office of Employee Wellness and Wellbeing encourages you to take advantage of the resources available to you as a NOVA employee. Benefited employees and their dependents can access their plan-based Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for support services. All employees have access to TimelyCare, which offers FREE mental health services that are available 24/7.
