Eat Fresh from the Farm
Summertime means shopping locally at farmers’ markets offering fresh produce, handcrafted goods and baked treats. By supporting these markets, you contribute to the local economy and promote wellness through nutritious food. Supporting local farmers fosters community. Connections are built when you know where your food comes from. Farmers tend to take pride in their produce so you can likely count on freshness and ripeness. Use this guide to help you discover fresh seasonal produce. When you shop locally, you are also promoting sustainability by reducing the carbon footprint of long-haul transportation. Furthermore, sustainability is promoted by shopping with a reusable tote.
