Ac. Affairs Seeks Interim Director of Faculty Professional Development, Apply by Friday
The Office of Academic Affairs is seeking an interim director of faculty professional development. This will be a one-year, full-time (100% reassigned time for teaching faculty) position. This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic leader to shape the future of faculty development at NOVA.
About the Role: The director of faculty professional development is a leadership position reporting directly to the vice president of academic affairs and chief academic officer. The successful appointee will be responsible for crafting and implementing collegewide strategies for faculty professional development. This includes the management of key events such as the New Faculty Orientation (NFO), the Spring Faculty Convening and the Power Up your Pedagogy (PUP) conference.
Who We Are Looking For: We seek an individual with a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, exceptional writing skills and strong organizational capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successful teaching experience, a deep understanding of contemporary pedagogical theories and best practices in college teaching, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Your Impact: As the director, you will
- Develop, manage and assess professional development programs for full-time teaching, professional and administrative faculty and adjunct faculty.
- Promote faculty excellence through award recommendations.
- Lead the work of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching Excellence (CATE).
- Manage NFO, PUP and other professional development events.
