August 13, 2024 / Events

Brightpoint Community College will host a virtual conference September 6 to spotlight the potential of Experiential Learning through student produced projects and collaborative presentations conducted by students, faculty, and staff from across the VCCS. The keynote will be offered by Virginia State Senator and former VCCS Faculty Member Ghazala Hashmi.

This will be the second annual conference of its kind, and it’s free and open to faculty, staff and students from all of Virginia’s Community Colleges. Registration to attend is now open.

Note: There is still time to offer proposals for the event. The deadline to submit a session is Friday, August 23. Organizers are encouraging submissions that focus on the pedagogy of experiential learning, work-based learning and service learning. Submissions might pertain to study abroad programs, internships and apprenticeships, research projects, service learning, skilled trades, visual arts, performing arts, dual enrollment or work-based partnerships and learning.
