NOVA Libraries Supports Textbook Affordability

August 15, 2024 / General NOVA News

To assist students with lowering textbook costs and to increase access to resources, NOVA Libraires was accepted into VIVA’s Curriculum Driven Acquisitions (CDA) Program for 2024-2025. For the full list of textbooks purchased by the program, please visit the LibGuide.

VIVA, the Virtual Library of Virginia, is the consortium of nonprofit academic libraries within the Commonwealth. The CDA program is an open and affordable course content initiative supporting e-book purchases for bookstore course content available through library vendors for student classroom use. Any e-books purchased through this program will allow perpetual access, unlimited usage, unlimited users and Digital Rights Management (DRM)-free or DRM-light. The primary goal of the program is to reduce the cost of course materials for Virginia students by matching titles on bookstore lists to e-books available for purchase or already held in VIVA shared e-book collections.
