Jack Kent Cooke Scholar Campus Representatives
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is a highly selective scholarship for the nation’s top community college students who are seeking to complete their bachelor’s degrees at four-year colleges or universities.
For the past several years, NOVA has been honored to have several Jack Kent Cooke scholars, who each received up to $55,000 per academic year, for up to three years, to complete their bachelor’s degrees at an accredited four-year institution in the United States. Finalists also received individualized advising through the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, access to a vast network of JKC alumni and other opportunities for leadership and service.
The application process is highly competitive, and in 2024 more than 1,600 applications were received. The applications were then reviewed and 459 semifinalists were chosen (of which NOVA had 11!). 60 finalists were then selected nationally to receive the JKC Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, of which NOVA had two finalists this past academic year.
NOVA is grateful to our faculty and staff who support our applicants throughout the process. Each of NOVA’s campuses has a Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship point of contact, who answers questions about the application process, promotes the program and helps guide students through the application. We are grateful to the following faculty and staff for serving this year as points of contact for their campus:

We encourage our faculty and staff to promote this amazing opportunity to their students during the academic year. The application process typically opens in mid-October and closes in February. This year, NOVA will also host several fall webinars to promote the program and help students understand the criteria and application process. Please be on the lookout for those opportunities as well and attend to learn more!
For more information, please email Abbey Jones, associate director for specialty programs, at AJones@nvcc.edu. Wishing you and all of NOVA a wonderful fall semester!
