Improve Hybrid and Online Course Quality with a QM Workshop, Beginning Sept. 17
We are delighted to announce that we will continue to offer “Applying the Quality Matters (QM) Rubric” workshop for NOVA faculty through Quality Matters, a well-known professional organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of online and hybrid courses. As a national quality standard for online and hybrid courses, the QM Rubric has been used by VCCS colleges and NOVA to guide online and hybrid courses to support student success. “Applying the QM Rubric” stands as Quality Matter’s flagship workshop, introducing the Rubric and its application in reviewing online and hybrid courses for continuous improvement to optimize student learning.
This workshop is free for all NOVA faculty, particularly those looking to acquire valuable skills to enhance hybrid or online courses to advance student success. Two sessions are scheduled for the fall semester, with the upcoming session beginning on September 17.
- Applying the QM Rubric, September 17 – October 1
- Applying the QM Rubric, October 29 – November 12
The workshop is delivered asynchronously online, which allows participants to learn at their own pace and complete assignments by the due dates. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate from Quality Matters showcasing their professional background in this national standard.
This workshop demands your commitment for completion, and you are advised to schedule your two weeks accordingly. To register, go to GoSignMeUp and select Online Teaching on the navigation menu. For any questions or further information, please contact Hong Wang at hwang@nvcc.edu.
