SSC to Offer Training to Reduce Confirming Orders, Sept. 12 thru 20
The VCCS’ Shared Services is offering upcoming training on “confirming orders” and how to eliminate them. Confirming orders are purchases made without prior approval and issuance of a Purchase Order. Essentially, goods or services are ordered without proper review and are, therefore, non-compliant. The VCCS must get the confirming order percentage below 5% to be compliant. As a result, Shared Services Center will offer three virtual training sessions for VCCS colleges. These sessions will provide insights into confirming orders and will cover:
- What is a confirming order?
- Monthly confirming order reporting
- Examples of avoidable confirming orders
- Blanket POs
Each session will present the same material, so you only need to attend one. Interested employees can sign up using the links below:
- Thursday, September 12 from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
- Monday, September 16 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
- Friday, September 20 from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
If you have any questions, please contact us at procurement@nvcc.edu. We look forward to your participation!
