Webinar on Engaged and Inclusive Learning with Dr. Carolyn Hurley, Sept. 27
Now that you have completed your hybrid and NOL certification trainings, are you curious about how to apply these skills in your teaching? Do you want to see the incredible things your fellow faculty members are doing? Each semester, NOVA Online partners with talented faculty across NOVA’s campuses to offer a best-practice webinar series, spotlighting innovative and effective teaching strategies for hybrid and online courses.
We are thrilled to kick off the fall semester with Dr. Carolyn Hurley, who will be leading our first webinar, “Cultivating Connection: Strategies for Engaged and Inclusive Learning.” This webinar will be held on Friday, September 27, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m.
Dr. Hurley is a professor of communication at NOVA’s Loudoun Campus. With over two decades of experience, she is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments where students develop essential skills for managing relationships, thriving in professional environments and communicating across cultural differences and lived experiences. Dr. Hurley was NOVA’s AANAPISI Grant Faculty Lead, heading up the AAPI Connect Student Mentor program. She is a frequent contributor on DEI projects, to the Eastern Communication Association and National Communication Association, and she holds professional certificates in Diversity & Inclusion in the Workplace and Inclusive Leadership. With her extensive background in teaching across different modalities—whether in-person, hybrid or online—she is excited to share practical strategies on how to foster engagement and connection in your courses.
This webinar is open to all NOVA faculty, especially those eager to explore new ways to connect with and engage hybrid and online learners. Click here for more information about the webinar.
