Monthly Credit-for-Prior-Learning (CPL) Webinars for Students Continue, Oct. 4

September 23, 2024 / Our Nighthawks

Academic Affairs will continue its monthly Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) webinar series on October 4. These webinars aim to increase students’ awareness of CPL and empower them to make academic progress using their prior learning. Topics covered include potential time and cost savings with CPL, how to access and navigate the online CPL manual, the steps required to obtain CPL for specific types of prior learning, and an overview of NOVA’s decision-making processes regarding CPL.

The first webinar in the series, which was held on September 6, was a success, with 51 participants, including 16 faculty and staff members, who contributed to its success not only by participating the webinar but also by providing valuable suggestions to improve the overall participant experience. Thanks to their feedback, Academic Affairs is now offering one-hour webinars to allow ample time for a more in-depth presentation and participants’ questions.

CPL can be a game-changer for adult students (aged 25 and older), helping them accelerate their path to graduation by earning credit for what they already know. Although the webinars are tailored to students, they provide valuable insights for faculty and staff to share with students and the tools to guide them. We strongly encourage you to attend one of the webinars and hope that you will help spread the word to students.

Thank you for your continued support of CPL and your dedication to helping our students achieve their academic goals.
